Locke & Key: Welcome To Lovecraft was the first story arc of the Locke & Key comic book series written by Joe Hill, illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez and published by IDW Publishing. It consists of six issues, the first of which this is a special edition of, sold out in a single day. Welcome To Lovecraft serves as a prologue to the three-act story proper. Act One consists of two six-issue storylines, the first of which, "Head Games", (posted in Avaxhome by yours truly) commenced with the release of its first issue on January 22, 2009 and earned two Eisner award nominations, for Best Limited Series and Best Writer . The second six-issue storyline in Act One will be entitled "Crown Of Shadows" and is expected for release in the Fall/Winter of 2009. This special edition contains the original script by Joe Hill and includes an all-new 11-page story, "Freddy Wertham Goes to Hell", written by Hill and drawn by the late Seth Fisher.
