Before I start posting some rare strips, sharing a Hindi book for online reading. It's a worth book for collection. If you read this book once, always like to open again and again.
Two words about this book: Raag Darbari (Melody of the Court, one of the ragas, 1968) is one of the most famous Hindi novels written by
Srilal Shukla, an author known for his social and political satire.
Shrilal Shukla (1925 - 2011), an IAS officer, is renowned for his objective and purposive satire in contemporary Hindi fiction. In 1957, he published his first novel, Sooni Ghat ka Sooraj (The Sun of a Desolate Valley) followed by a series of satires Amgada Ka Pamva (Angada's Foot) in 1958. His Raag Darbari is the first satirical novel of its kind in Hindi spanning a wide spectrum of post-Independence rural India, specifically Avadh. It was Shrilal Shukla who took wit, irony and sarcasm to great heights in Hindi literature. He was awarded the Sahitya Academy Award, the highest Indian literary award, in 1970 for this novel.
Novel on deteriorating values in the cities of India as compared to the village life. The novel highlights the failing values present in post-Independence Indian society. It exposes the helplessness of intellectuals in the face of a strong and corrupt nexus between criminals, businessmen, police and politicians. Though a lot has changed in 40+ years since the book was first written, but you can see almost everything even today. The core of our society has not changed.
Page 1: शहर का किनारा। उसे छोड़ते ही भारतीय देहात का महासागर शुरू हो जाता था। वहीं एक ट्रक खड़ा था। उसे देखते ही यकीन हो जाता था, इसका जन्म केवल सड़कों के साथ बलात्कार करने के लिए हुआ है। जैसे कि सत्य के होते हैं, इस ट्रक के भी कई पहलू थे। पुलिसवाले उसे एक ओर से देखकर कह सकते थे कि वह सड़क के बीच में खड़ा है, दूसरी ओर से देखकर ड्राइवर कह सकता था कि वह सड़क के किनारे पर है। चालू फैशन के हिसाब से ड्राइवर ने ट्रक का दाहिना दरवाज़ा खोलकर डैने की तरह फैला दिया था। इससे ट्रक की खूबसूरती बढ़ गई थी, साथ ही यह खतरा मिट गया था कि उसके वहाँ होते हुए कोई दूसरी सवारी भी सड़क के ऊपर से निकल सकती है। .........
............ आज रेलवे ने उसे धोखा दिया था। स्थानीय पैसेंजर्स ट्रेन को रोज की तरह दो घण्टा लेट समझकर वह घर से चला था, पर वह सिर्फ डेढ़ घण्टा लेट होकर चल दी थी। शिकायती किताब के कथा-साहित्य में अपना योगदान देकर और रेलवे अधिकारियों की निगाह में हास्यास्पद बनकर वह स्टेशन से बाहर निकल आया था। ..........
Every page of the book has humour. The language and humour stood out everywhere, both in dialogue and in narration.
Note: The English translation published by Penguin Books is also available. Didn't read translated version myself, so just check before buying.

Hello All,
It gives me great pleasure to come back to blogging scene after a long period. Today I am posting one of the few remaining comics in 3D comics series. You will need 3D Ana glyph glasses to read this comics. If I remember correctly it was provided with one of the Times of India issues recently. It is titled 'चिम्पू पिकलू भोलू गोलू' . It was published by Diamond comics and has some great artwork for 3D comics. Cover is missing, sorry about that.If anyone has the cover please provide the same I hope you enjoy it.

Today going to share 6th and last Hindi Asterix.
But before it, I would like to share a news.
Parth Dixit (the son of Anurag Dixit & the student of Class VII, DPS Raipur) has stunned all by his spectacular performance in the All India Talent Series of Lawn Tennis Tournament (organised by All India Tennis Association) held from 20th Sept 2010 to 24th Sept 2010. He was awarded the BEST PLAYER & Runner up trophy by the legendary former Indian cricket team Captain Kapil Dev who was the chief Guest on the closing ceremony.

नमस्ते दोस्तों, आज लगभग दो वर्षों की तलाश के बाद मौका मिला है पहली हिन्दी एस्ट्रिक्स आप सभी के साथ आनंद लेने का| प्रस्तुत है: "एस्ट्रिक्स ओलम्पिक में" (English title: Asterix at the Olympic Games)

कुल ६ हिंदी एस्ट्रिक्स कॉमिक्स में से ४ पहले ही आप पढ़ चुके हैं, एक और अनुराग भाई के पास उपलब्ध है, लेकिन मैं इस अंक को खोज नहीं पा रहा था| और इस बार, भारत से नहीं, बल्कि यूरोपीय संघ से एक प्रशंसक आगे आया जिसने अपना नाम गुप्त रखने का आग्रह किया| स्वच्छीकरण का कार्य मेरे द्वारा किया गया है| जैसा मैंने पिछले एस्ट्रिक्स पोस्ट में भी कहा था, इस अंक से मुझे विशेष लगाव है, ना सिर्फ इससे एस्ट्रिक्स से मेरा परिचय हुआ था, बल्कि मेरी नज़र में कुल ६ हिंदी में से सबसे दिलचस्प भी है|
कभी आपने सोंचा है आखिर क्यों वर्ष १९६८ में इसका मूल प्रकाशन हुआ था?
वैसे यह एस्ट्रिक्स श्रृंखला की १२ वीं एलबम है, जिसका प्रकाशन फ्रांसीसी में वर्ष १९६८ (मेक्सिको सिटी ओलंपिक) में और अंग्रेजी अनुवाद १९७२ (म्यूनिख ओलंपिक) में प्रकाशित हुआ था| इस कहानी का प्रकाशन का समय चुना गया जब अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलिंपिक समिति ने मेक्सिको सिटी ओलंपिक (१९६८) से ओलंपिक में पहली बार नशीली दवाओं के प्रयोग पर नियंत्रण की शुरुआत करने का फैसला किया था| वाह क्या कहने, एक फ्रांसीसी पियरे फ्रेडी ने आधुनिक ओलंपिक की स्थापना की, और फ्रांस से ही कॉमिक में पहली आवाज डोपिंग के खिलाफ उठाई गयी|
प्रदर्शन को बढ़ाने की क्षमता वाली दवाओं का प्रयोग
प्राचीन ओलंपिक के समय से होता आया है| आधुनिक
ओलिंपिक खेलों में १९०४ मैराथन के विजेता, थॉमस जे हिक्स का नाम पहले
खिलाड़ी के रूप में दर्ज है जो अभी के नियमों के मुताबिक अयोग्य होता|
समय के साथ इनका प्रयोग चरम सीमा तक पहुँचने लगा| ये सिर्फ ना ही खेल की अखंडता के लिए खतरा बन गये थे, बल्कि एथलीट के लिए भी घातक होते जा रहे थे| सन १९६० के रोम खेलों में सड़क साइकिल दौड़ के दौरान, साइकिल चालक डेनिश क्नुद एनेमार्क जेन्सेन अपनी साइकिल से गिर गया और बाद में मृत्यु हो गई| जांच में पाया गया कि उस पर amphetamines का प्रभाव था| इस घटना के बाद खेल महासंघों ने इनके खिलाफ कदम उठाना शुरू किया| १९६७ में अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलिंपिक समिति ने भी अगले खेलों से नशीली दवाओं के उपयोग को रोकने का फैसला किया था| सारांश: एक रोमन फौजी जो आगामी ओलंपिक खेलों के लिए तैयारी कर रहा होता है, उसे एस्ट्रिक्स और ओबेलिक्स जादुई काढ़े के प्रभाव , जिसे हम डोपिंग ही कह सकते हैं, में इस तरह शिकस्त देते हैं कि बेचारा आत्मविश्वासी चैंपियन खिन्नचित्त हो जाता है| ओलंपिक के बारे में जानकर ये स्वतंत्र गालवासी अपने आपको रोमन घोषित कर आलम्पिया की तरफ चल निकलते हैं|

सभी कॉमिक्स प्रेमियों को IUnknown का प्रेमपूर्ण नमस्कार| आज हम आपके लिए लाये है, तीन आयामी कॉमिक्स की शृंखला की अगली कड़ी 'महाबली शाका और जन्नत महल' | आशा है आप महाबली शाका से परिचित है | यह डॉयमंद कॉमिक्स का हीरो है जोकि वेताल और टार्जन से 'inspire' हुआ है | अपनी सादी पोशाख में वोह बिलकुल वेताल की तरह दिखता है और उसी की तरह जहाँ वो मुक्का मारता है, वहाँ नागचिन्ह लग जाता है | कुछ भी हो कहानियां अच्छी है और आशा है कि आपको पसंद आएगी |
इस कॉमिक्स का स्कैनिंग मैंने किया है और सादे पन्नों की सफाई करने में प्रभात ने अपना कमाल दिखाया है| मुखपृष्ठ और अंतिम पन्ना एकदम फटा पुराना था, फिर से अब नया लगता है |

जहाँ तक मुझे याद है, हिंदी में कुल मिला कर
मात्र ६ एस्ट्रिक्स प्रकाशित हुए थे| मेरा परिचय एस्ट्रिक्स से हिंदी के ही माध्यम से हुआ है| सबसे पहली हिंदी एस्ट्रिक्स थी, "एस्ट्रिक्स ओलिंपिक खेलों में", जिसने मुझे इस पात्र का आजीवन दीवाना बना दिया| मुझे याद है कोई अगस्त या सितम्बर १९८२ की बात है, एक दुकान पर इंद्रजाल और कुछ अमर चित्र कथा खरीद रहा था| पास में कुछ इंगलिश एस्ट्रिक्स भी थी, जिनकी कीमत कोई ५० रूपये और साथ में ही हिंदी ५ रूपये मात्र की| उठा कर देखा, कागज साधारण लेकिन कॉमिक मजेदार लगी| खरीद कर घर लाया, कितनी बार पढ़ा होऊंगा, कह नहीं सकता| फिर शुरू हो गयी हर अगले अंकों की तलाश|
अनुराग भाई के पास उपलब्ध पांच में से तीन पहले ही पोस्ट कर चूका हूँ | आज प्रस्तुत है एक और विरल हिंदी एस्ट्रिक्स: "एस्ट्रिक्स और ज्योतिषी"| संवादों का अनुवाद प्रसंसनीय है|
- १९७२ - मूल प्रकाशन फ्रांसीसी भाषा में और मूल श्रृंखला में उन्नीसवीं (अब तक केवल ३४) कॉमिक
- १९८३ - प्रथम हिंदी प्रकाशन (अभी तक आखरी भी ), हिन्दी एस्ट्रिक्स श्रृंखला में तीसरी कॉमिक
यह कहानी है एक ऐसे प्रपंची की जो एक ज्योतिषी (भविष्यवक्ता) का ढोंग कर सीघे-साधे गालवासियों से खूब पैसा बनाता है| कुछ समय तक "बांटो और राज करो" नीति सफल होती है| लेकिन अपनी ही करणी का फल पहले से भी बुरी तरह भुगतता है, और जहाँ एस्ट्रिक्स महाशय हों - कुछ और भी हो सकता था क्या? बोया पेड़ बबूल का , आम कहाँ से खाय|
उम्मीद है आप इस कॉमिक्स को पसंद करेंगे|श्रेय: स्कैनिंग का कार्य इस अंक के संग्राहक खुद अनुराग दीक्षित द्वारा और स्वच्छिकरण मेरे

एक खुशखबरी है: अपने रफ़ीक भाई - जो पिछले साल से पतिश्री की सफल भूमिका अदा कर रहे हैं, ७ जुलाई २०१० से पिताश्री की भूमिका को भी बहादुरी के साथ निभाना शुरू कर दिया है| पुत्ररत्न का नाम वो खुद ही समय आने पे बताएँगे|
मेरी ऊपरवाले से पार्थना है कि "छोटे रफ़ीक" खलीफा हारून की तरह सौम्य और सौभाग्यशाली नायक हों, जिनपे Iznogoud स्वरूप लोगों की बुरी नियत से तनिक भी आंच ना आये|
हम सभी की तरफ से उनके सम्पूर्ण परिवार को हार्दिक बधाइयाँ!
इस खुशी के पल में प्रस्तुत है, अनुराग भाई के अनमोल खजाने से एक अति दुर्लभ कॉमिक:
हिंदी में एकमात्र प्रकाशित Iznogoud कॉमिक - मुर्खता दिवस
इस किरदार के लेखक Rene Goscinny कृत Astérix और Lucky Luke को कौन नहीं जानता है| वैसे तो अभी तक मात्र २८ फ्रेंच में छपे हैं| भारतवर्ष में १२ अंग्रेजी में उपलब्ध हैं, १२ और भी जल्दी ही आने वाले हैं| लेकिन न इससे पहले, न ही इसके बाद हिंदी पाठकों को यह सौभाग्य हासिल हो पाया है|
स्वर्गवासी रेने की तरह शायद ही कोई ऐसा कॉमिक्स लेखक है जिसके तीनों किरदार इतने सालों बाद भी विश्व के लोकप्रिय कॉमिक्स नायक हों| ये किस श्रेणी की कला हैं कहने की जरुरत नहीं, इन कॉमिक्सों को किशोरों से बुजुर्ग वर्ग तक पढ़ने में तनिक भी संकोच नहीं करता |
सार: बगदाद के बेहद ही सौम्य खलीफा Haroun El Poussah (हारून अल पौस्साह) का प्रिय प्रमुख वजीर Iznogoud है| लेकिन उसके जीवन में एकमात्र उद्देश्य है, खलीफा हारून का पराभव और खुद ही खलीफा बनना|
वैसे तो खलीफा की नज़र में उसका प्रमुख वजीर हमेशा वफादार अनुयायी रहता है, लेकिन कैसे अपना ही हर दाव Iznogoud पे उल्टा बैठता है, इस सम्पूर्ण कॉमिक्स की श्रृंखला का अभिन्न अंग है| कहने को तो कॉमिक्स है, परत्नु क्या वास्तविकता में हम ऐसे लोंगों को अपने आस-पास नहीं पाते हैं? ;)

I hope you have purchased/made your 3D glasses by now. I have next in series of 3D comics, Jungle ki Rani by Diamond comics. The main stories are about queen of jungle Karishma, who is a sort of female Tarzan, Illustrations and stories are quite good, Rare for any published 3D comics. Cover is bit risque, so I was hesitant first about posting.
Hoping you'll like this comics.

Hi All,
I hope you have all got your 3d glasses by now. I was planning to post a series of 3D comics after my last post, but some serious personal problems affected my plans.
Here is second 3D comics in the series of 3D comics.
It is based on famous movie Return of the jaws. Although it is a comic it doesn't have a single baloon. I tried my best to clean this comic but I am no photoshop expert and I found to my dismay that mycleaning methods caused loss of 3D effect. Prabhat has cleaned all non 3D pages for me.

One of the most popular comics character 'Tarzan', was created by Edgar Rice Burroughs in 1911. First appeared in the novel 'Tarzan of the Apes'. which was published in 1912. The very same book was adapted as first Tarzan comics strip in early 1929.
Like the Phantom, Tarzan also lives in the jungles of Africa. Sadly, both never meet in any comics.

Update (22 April 2009): Friends who can read Hindi and English (both versions), they are completing collection of one more Hero “Phil Corrigan”.
Total 11 Indrajal Comics- First issue #V21N21 (1984), Last issue #V24N13 (1987).
English collectors need only one IJC & Hindi collectors need 10 IJC only.

Today we are completing our Indrajal Comics collection (English) of two heroes: Buz Sawyer & Aditya.
1. Buz Sawyer was a popular comic strip created by Roy Crane that ran from November 1, 1943 to 1989. The last strip signed by Crane was dated 21 April 1979. In June 2006, King Features' email service, DailyINK, began running Buz Sawyer dailies from the beginning.By 2009, this run had brought Buz into civilian life.
In India, total 11
Indrajal Comics were published featuring
Buz Sawyer as main hero.
First appearance: 377 (1981)
Last appearance: V20N23 (1983)
