675 - Some Flash Gordon Sunday strips

Courtesy, Emile, we have some Flash Gordon Sunday strips. S176 was the last Sunday strip drawn by Dan Barry (the brother of Sy Barry, who drew the Phantom). S177 was a reprint of an earlier Dan Barry comic strip. S178 thru S188 was drawn by a group of Latin American artists.

Starting with S189, King Features got a new artist Jim Keefe to do the artwork for the Flash Gordon Sunday strips. While remaining faithful to the creation of Alex Raymond, Jim did bring his own touch to the strips.

I have no words to thank Emile, except to say that I am honored that he considers me his friend. I have never seen a comic book database for Indrajal Comics better than the one Emile has. Often we get to see glimpses of the contents when he mentions some details about comics in some of the blogs that deal with IJCs.

Summary: Finding themselves plunging through an artificial lake on Saturn’s moon Titan (read S-074 The Ship of Gold), a horrified Flash and Dale suddenly stand face to face with the dreaded Skorpi, an all-conquering race who is preparing an Earth invasion from their hidden base.
